Greg Blatt has not taken the easy route to success. After completing college, the Columbia University graduate went on an extended period looking for a direction in life. It was only when he was accepted to law school that Blatt decided to try to become a successful member of society. Even after moving forward through his studies at Columbia University, Greg Blatt remained unsure of his direction in life.
Greg Blatt admits his career began in a less than successful way, with his initial steps into the legal profession taking him to the financial sector. The financial sector was not for Greg Blatt, but his move into the entertainment sector did bring him to the attention of Martha Stewart. As an entertainment lawyer, Blatt found his way to the Martha Stewart Home organization as its General Counsel. From this position, Blatt found his love of business and entertainment law. Moving forward through his career, Greg Blatt would become one of the leaders in bringing businesses to the new technology sector.
Even as his career in the legal profession was taking off, Blatt held aspirations about becoming a screenwriter. This dream would be ended by a move to the IAC Group. It was here that Blatt found his second mentor, Bary Diller. The CEO of the IAC group allowed Blatt to travel to Texas and take the reins at Match.com. At the time, the dating platform was struggling to perform to its potential. Diller gave Greg Blatt the role of CEO and soon entrusted him with turning around both Tinder and Match. Both platforms have grown to more success under Blatt’s leadership, which has continued as part of the IAC Group.
