Brandon Taubman has been an entrepreneur since he was young when he started his first business at age 10, selling lemonade on the street corner for 25 cents a cup. He then created several other businesses before he graduated college at age 20. Taubman’s journey into the world of data science started at Stablewood Properties, a real estate investment firm based in Texas. Stablewood Properties was looking for help with their data science team, and they found Brandon through LinkedIn.
Stablewood Properties was looking for someone who could help them with their data science problems related to large-scale machine learning challenges, which include predicting future housing prices based on past housing values and predicting the performance of their portfolio. Brandon Taubman was able to help Stablewood Properties with this task and was also able to create a new business model for them where they were able to get more data to improve their predictions.
Taubman’s career as an entrepreneur started when he joined the Yahoo! Finance team in 2013. Brandon was looking to add value to Yahoo! Finance. He found that he could do so by helping them provide better content for their users, which would allow Yahoo! Finance’s users to make better financial decisions. After joining Yahoo! Finance, Brandon was allowed to work with a team of data scientists using Python as their main programming language.
The data scientists that Brandon worked with at Yahoo! Finance were using Python as their main programming language, and they wanted someone else on the team who could use Python to share their knowledge. Brandon Taubman was able to learn Python by working closely with the data scientists at Yahoo! Finance, and he was also able to use Python in his work.
