However, the public quickly took this over and sent in pictures of well known killers and even child molesters. It doesn’t seem like those who were tasked with screening out some of these types of things understood what was happening perfectly. They allowed those pictures to go up along with the rest.

 

The pranksters had their fun with this one and were able to get the pictures of criminals up on the big screens. The Walkers company was not so pleased with what happened with this campaign, but it is hard to deny that it did get them some attention. Unfortunately for them, it is not the kind of attention that you want to have shown upon your company.

 

Considering this, it will probably be some time before another company takes the route of running a campaign whereby they show pictures up on the big screens of then streets of London and elsewhere for a very long time to come.

The Labour Party in the United Kingdom is already a popular Party with younger voters. At least it is more popular than the alternatives. That is why it was so wise for the leaders in that Party to use social media to help energize those young people to come out to vote.

Labour capitalized on social media while their main opponents the Conservative Party did not use social media nearly as effectively. This may be the reason why even though the Conservatives were leading in the polls quite heavily, they were the ones who actually lost seats in this election. They were expected to pick up even more seats, but that is not how things panned out. The younger voters showed up, and they showed up heavily in favor of Labour.

 

Given this outcome, perhaps the Conservatives will think twice about how they use social media to engage with their voters in the future. If this election showed anything it is that the power of social media is not to be ignored.

Domino’s is betting on its Facebook Live Movie Nights to attract viewers by rewarding them with a 20 percent pizza discount code at the end of the comedy classic. As more viewers watch the movie, Domino’s will raise the discount. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is the first free live streaming movie in Domino’s social media campaign; it will debut on Sunday, June 11th at 7PM ET, the 31st anniversary of the movie’s debut in theaters.
